Bargi Dam

Bargi dam is located in Jabalpur district of Madhya Pradesh in India. It is proud of Madhya Pradesh Tourism. Bragi dam stands on Narmada river which is the lifeline of Madhya Pradesh. The scheme of Bargi dam is based on the name of Rani Avanti Bai Lodhi Sagar of Gondwana times. The scheme was sectioned in 1960 by Yojna Ayog. The construction of the Bargi dam was started in 1975 and it was completed in 1981. The total cost of construction was 566 crore 34 lacs at that time. According to NVDA  Bargi dam scheme was a multi-purpose scheme by which water has been taken to the area of Mahakoshal and Vindhya, for which construction of canal left and the right side has been done at the cost of 5127 crores.

                    In Bargi dam production of electricity has been done. The total production of electricity is 115 MW in which 90 MW by dam by two units of 45MW and 15 MW by the canal.
         There are 21 gates in Bargi dam. The best time to see Bargi dam is the Rainy season at that time all the gate are open and you can see the beauty of the dam. There is a large quantity of water coming out from the gate and it is huge. It is a very nice view to watch a large quantity of water coming out from the gate and its look like milky water coming out of it. You can also walk over the dam and at that time you feel how big it is.
                                                    You can also do boating here. There is the availability of cruise, speed boat and jet ski in which you can enjoy the ride with your friends and family and you can see the beauty of the dam.

How to Reach

Jabalpur is well connected by Road Train and Air. Bargi dam is approximately 35 km away from Jabalpur. You can go reach here by NH-7 and by gaur road.
